The dog is the only creature on earth that would love you more than itself. It is an honest animal that is attached to humans and, justifiably says that a dog is the best friend you can have.

Only a dog will wait for you for hours on the doorstep and rejoice at your arrival without asking where you have been. It feels when you are sad or sick, then it will carefully sit on your lap wanting to reduce your pain or sadness.

Soldiers around the world are developing a special friendship with their fellow soldiers, especially when facing the dangers of war zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan. The same can be said for the animals they encounter, including local dogs that are sometimes friends with soldiers while on duty.

That’s what happened to U.S. Marine Corps pilot Major Brian Dennis when he met Nubs, a dog raised by Iraqi troops to warn them of danger.

As part of his training, Iraqi soldiers cut off Nubs’ ears. This was done to tighten the dog and make it more efficient when dealing with aggressive dogs. When Dennis came across the Nubs, he was seriously injured by one of the Iraqis.

He said one of the Iraqis told him that one of the soldiers was angry and stabbed him with a large screwdriver, the raw puppy was infected and looked scary. They did not think he would do it.

The Nubs became popular in the fort where Dennis was stationed.

Thinking quickly, Dennis returned Nubs to the US base with him for treatment. Soon after, Nubs sought out other troops in the fort. Dennis fell in love with the Nubs the first time he met him, recounting their first meeting in an interview.

After Dennis became more attached to Nubs, he and his fellow soldiers decided to keep the puppy there and build a dog house for him.

But later a problem arose with the fact that dogs were generally not allowed in sensitive areas, and soon the deputies appeared and told them that they could not keep the Nubs.

So Dennis decided to keep Nubs for himself and send the puppy to the United States to the home where he lived.

The story of the Nubs inspired so many people that a book was written about his journey, and a movie was developed. Dennis and Nubbs have also been on many shows spreading the story about how they reunited.
