Animal shelters across the United States are full of dogs and other animals that want to be taken in forever homes where they will feel loved and comfortable.

Unfortunately, some dogs are overlooked and are the last to be adopted, especially seniors. If you wonder how they end up, most of them are usually euthanized. Most people think that senior dogs can’t be active because of their age. Instead, they want a younger pet but with a fully-formed personality that will fit their lifestyle.

Meet Bear, the 16-year-old senior dog, who suffers from several health problems and has a matted fur. He looked like he hadn’t eaten in days or even weeks. All of this together stood on the way of his adoption. Nobody was interested to adopt the poor creature that resembled a skeleton.

However, Bear’s luck changed when one family visited the shelter and felt that the dog had a lot to give.

Since the family adopted him, they showered him with love and affection which resulted in a full transformation of the dog. Nobody believed that it was the same dog.

This was Bear’s kennel record. He was a senior dog who needed to be rescued. Below you can see his journey to his new and better life.

On his first day in his new home, he was finally able to relax on a comfortable bed.

The family decided to change his name to Norman.

One of his favorite things to do is taking afternoon naps.

He finally got the opportunity to eat dog food and even put some weight on.

Norman is looking better every day!

It’s clear that all he needed was love and affection.

The dog who used to resemble a skeleton now looks completely different.

If you want to spread awareness of adopting senior dogs or pets, share this story with your friends. The least you can do is give them a chance to spend the rest of their lives surrounded by people who love them.
