A stray cat came running after she noticed that rescuers found her kittens outside an apartment building.
Catsnip Etc, is a trap-neuter-return animal rescue located in Goshen, Indiana. A concerned citizen saw the cat and immediately contacted the rescue. The cat’s owner moved away, so she was forced to give birth to her kittens outside the apartment building a few days ago.
The rescue said that the cat and her kittens were protected only by a cardboard box leaning on the side of the apartment building. They immediately went to the neighborhood and some neighborhood kids showed them where the cat and her kittens were hiding.
When the rescuers opened a can of wet food, the hungry ginger cat immediately ran up to them, wanting to be fed. That’s when they saw one tortie and two gingers kittens.

Fortunately, the cat was very friendly, like she knew that the people wanted to help her. The rescuers took the mom with her three kittens. Once they got her home, it was very obvious that she was used to be indoors.
As soon as the cat mom settled down into her new comfy bed, she started licking her babies while purring.
The rescuers named the cat mom Gelato and her cute little kittens were named Fudgie, Sherbet, and Creamsicle, Sherbet.
Gelato is very happy to have a decent meal every day and to live a comfortable environment in which she can raise her babies. She hasn’t stopped purring ever since she was rescued!
Gelato will never have to worry about living on the street anymore. Fortunately, her kittens will be able to grow up as indoor cats in a safe environment. They have even opened their eyes. All of them are healthy and flee free.
Gelato lets the shelter staff hold her kittens. She is always purring and continues to melt the heart of everyone who meets her.
