A swan whose nest was smashed with bricks has died. Unfortunately, some heartless vandals killed her unhatched eggs with bricks.

It’s believed that the swan died from a “broken heart” just a few weeks after her nest was destroyed.

Several teenage boys were seen throwing rocks and bricks along Manchester Canal in Kearsley last month. They wanted to hit the island where the swans’ eggs were left. Unfortunately, only three of the six eggs survived.

According to the wildlife activists who were keeping an eye on the swans said that only one egg remained and all the others were smashed. They mentioned that the male swan left the nest almost two weeks ago and hasn’t returned yet. They believe that the poor animal was driven away by stress and sadness.

Unfortunately, the female swan was found dead near her nest last week. Wildlife activist, Sam Woodrow, said that there are no words to describe the situation. He believes she died from a broken heart after her unhatched eggs were killed and her partner left.

Michael Mason who was trying to share updates on Facebook about the swan and her six eggs is also devastated. He wrote that the poor creature has been previously harassed by dogs, dogs, moorhen, and the teenage boys who threw bricks and rocks, leaving her with just one egg. The heartbreaking news of the dead swan in her nest made Mason feel like crying.

A spokesman for the RSPCA said that this is very heartbreaking and upsetting to hear about the death of this swan. They now launched an investigation about the former distressing incident. If anyone has some important information should contact theirĀ appeals line on 0300 123 8018.
